A New Day Dawning
There is something exhilarating about watching the sun rise out of the eastern horizon.
Even before the first breach, the sky begins to glow in hues of golden yellow and orange.
If you are on an eastern shore, the fiery ball pushes up through the surface of the deep, fire and water in perfect harmony.
Or maybe your view is the ridgeline of a nearby mountain range.
The valley below is shrouded in mist, a thin layer of clouds hanging just above the trees.
The sky is soaked with splashes of crimson and purple.
Then seemingly out of nowhere rays of light burst out over the ridge and fill the sky with dazzling radiance.
Not everyone rises at the crack of dawn to see it in its full glory, yet we know every day begins with the dawn.
With each new dawn there is hope of what the day will bring…
A productive day…a relaxing day…a fun day…a memorable day.
Finished projects…new challenges…resolution to a problem.
Mended relationships…new acquaintances…gathering of old friends.
Of course, some days the rise of the sun is hidden behind the cover of dark, stormy clouds.
We know logically that the sun is there, but we just can’t see its light or feel its warmth.
And like those gloomy days, sometimes our hearts are wrapped in the turbulent clouds of fear or depression, anger or disappointment, physical or emotional pain.
Yet…
Jesus came to be the light of the world. To expose the darkness. To obliterate its effect on the world.
And just when Satan thought he had his way and locked the Light in the darkness of the tomb…
On the third day…
A NEW DAY DAWNED!!!
And God’s SON, the Light of the world, ROSE from the grave, shining brighter than any sunrise we have ever seen or could imagine!
Jesus conquered the darkness and brought forth the Light.
Now we have this hope, that no matter how dark the clouds may appear the dawn will always come.
The people who walked in darkness
have seen a great light;
those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness,
on them has light shone. Isaiah 9:2
“I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.” John 12:46
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
